Dreamers Blog
I believe in my dream to provide content creators tools to make their images and videos shoppable and deeply engaging. What started this dream? Imagine you're watching a show like New Girl and Jess (the main character) walks on screen in some killer heels. You need THOSE heels. We built a platform called Spylight.com to make shows, movies, and platforms like Youtube and Instagram shoppable. Fans rewarded us by engaging deeply with all the content we built around their favorite shows. As we began to look at our own growth, it became apparent that our platform was contributing to the noise as just another content destination. Our partners need deeper engagement on their OWN platforms - not just another site to send their fans to. Thus, Spylight evolved from a platform to a plugin. Now, Spylight embeds with any image or video to make it shoppable in the simplest way possible. We deepen fan engagement and offer additional revenue streams to content creators from shows, streaming services, digital magazines, blogs, and more. What motivates you to follow this dream? I’m a fixer and a builder. Working with content creators allowed me to hear the challenges they face in their business to monetize their work. It’s been extremely motivating to see how something we’ve built is helping these creators drive deeper engagement and incremental revenue streams. On a personal level, connecting with such passionate and driven creative people has been an incredible privilege. What are your goals? Spylight believes in the power of native advertising and its evolution. Our technology provides contextual commerce in a seamless, almost invisible way to an audience. Over the past year, we secured partnerships with Fox, MTV, and others to test different iterations of Spylight. We recently launched with Time Inc./HelloGiggles, where our technology drives better KPIs than other banner advertising. We will soon be launching on other media and entertainment platforms and our goal is to continue evolving the definition and function of contextual commerce through 2017. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? Spylight is currently working with several big publishers and MCNs to fully validate and confirm product fit. If you know someone we should connect with, please let me know. Right now, we have a simple splash page with contact info at spylight.com. Reach out to me if you’d like a full demo of the product.
