Dreamers Blog
I believe in my dream to make a difference in the world. I believe in my dream to change lives of many for the better. What started this dream? I don’t know if I can really pinpoint a specific start or genesis to my dream. My mother raised me to stand up for myself if I really didn’t agree with something or how I was being treated. I always took that to heart and that branched out to looking out for others, especially those that didn’t always have a voice. According to my mother, she thinks I might have taken her advice a little too much to heart. I always had something to say when it came to the school board in middle school and high school, or with the administration and Board of Trustees at Ithaca College, to running to have the opportunity to represent over 5,000 hardworking Maine citizens. What motivates you to follow this dream? I continue to follow this dream because there is so much more that can be done to improve our country and the world. I believe that I need to make as much of a contribution as possible to solving some of the social and economical issues. There are so many problems in Maine that need fixing, which is why I decided to run for the Maine State House of Representatives. What are your goals? I don’t know that I really have any goals. I just want to continue to hold those in power accountable and make productive changes and solutions that positively affects the lives of many. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? I would like people to know that they should never settle for something that will hinder or negatively affect your dreams. As my favorite college professor always told my senior seminar, “Follow your bliss.” You can find out more information about my campaign and me by going to: www.elijahbreton.com or https://www.facebook.com/BretonforRepresentative/
