Dreamers Blog
I believe in my dream to become one of the top event managers/organizers. My name is Aleks. I am from Bulgaria, but currently living in Belgium. For several months already I’ve been running a blog called #kspersonal. Whether to what’s my dream, it is very simple - to become one of the top event managers/organizers. For now I have organized two charity campaigns in high school and it went pretty well. What started this dream? As I mentioned already, I have organized two charity events in my high school. Let’s call it an accident, because every year in high school I was part of the Student’s Council which was responsible for organizing everything in our school, except classes etc. So in the fourth year of high school (in total we have 5 years in Bulgarian high schools), the principal wanted me to organize the Christmas charity concert in our school and it went pretty good, I felt quite good doing this. I had good results so during senior year it was again up to me to organize a charity campaign on a national level. I found nice people to work with and we did amazing job with raising big amount of money for children with biological deceases. And by accident, I discovered that I really enjoy the process of organizing things and in the end, when you did good job, it feels amazing to stand in front of people, because you did good job either with their money, or if you’re doing charity – their trust. What motivates you to follow this dream? What drives me forward is the thing that I just can’t be satisfied if I don’t work this and work it on my terms. I am ready to sacrifice a lot of things for this one dream as long as in the end I can manage my own schedule and my own company. I won’t be able to breathe if I’m not doing what I love and doing it on my own terms. What are your goals? My primary goal is to become an event manager. In addition, I want to have my own company in this sphere. I already told you that I won’t be able to breathe if I am not doing that as a job. Another thing I really want to happen is to become a shareholder in Juventus. This is the only reason I want to become rich, so I can afford Juventus’s shares. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? Well, you already know that I am a huge fan of the Old Lady. People should also know that I never give up on what I want and that I loathe complaining. Yes, life is hard, but if instead of complaining, you put that time into working on your dreams and goals, you will own life. Maybe you will say it’s pretty optimistic, but I genuinely believe that if you want something really bad, you will find a way to achieve it. More about my point of view on a lot of topics you can find on kspersonal.wordpress.com or on Instagram @ks.persnl. I believe in my dream to become a scientist, an astronaut and someday the first astronaut to step on Mars. What started this dream? As young as I can remember I was fascinated by the night sky (as early as age 5) and I remember looking up and knowing someday I would go to space. What motivates you to follow this dream? I am motivated by my belief in myself and the huge support of teachers, friends and family who have all believed in me. And now an online community of over 700,000 people. What are your goals? I plan to graduate college with astrobiology and Russian degrees and enter a Phd program to study astrobiology straight from my undergraduate work. I will get my PhD and work as a scientist and start applying to become an astronaut. I also have a goal to attain my private pilot license in the next 6 months and in next 2 years plan to extend my scuba certification from a rescue diver to a dive master which is a professional certification. What started this dream? It all began thanks to my parents, really, even though they now hate that fact and my mother swears that if she were to know that I’d spend the rest of my life traveling and being away from home that she never would have sent me to Spain. You see, my family is from the northwest of Spain but emigrated to the US a little over thirty years ago, in search of better job opportunities. My brothers and I were born and raised in the US, but my parents would send us away to Spain every year to spend the summer with our grandparents. Imagine nine to ten months of boring school, tedious schoolwork, a demanding extra-curricular activity timetable and overprotective parents, and then imagine two months of being in a small, safe town where you can be out and about all day without any worries, learning another language, meeting people who become some of your best friends, seeing new places that are completely different to what you’re used to, and all of this with the minimal responsibility of being home in time for delicious meals and to spend some quality time with your grandparents. Summers in Spain meant freedom, freedom and happiness discovering and experiencing new things. That is what traveling is; ever since being privileged enough to travel to Spain every summer, until I myself got up and moved to Spain, I’ve wanted to travel the world. So, why not find a way to work while traveling? That’s how this dream evolved. What motivates you to follow this dream? This may not be the answer that most people expect, but, what motivates me is feeling stuck. You can be relatively happy and comfortable somewhere, but it’s not until you throw yourself out there, somewhere new and different, that you realize what you’re missing out on on a daily basis. When I lived in the US, I dreamt of living in Spain. I’ve been living in Spain for almost seven years and now I dream of living everywhere. Why? Because you get used to it, you learn the language, you learn the lifestyle, the culture, the ways of the people, there comes a point where it’s not new and exciting anymore and you feel this need to get out there and find another place to discover! That’s obviously not the only thing that motivates me. What motivates me the most is seeing that other people are doing it. There’s this somewhat new concept called the Digital Nomad lifestyle, which is basically living around the world while working from a lap top. If you search for the term Digital Nomad on Google, Facebook, Instagram, any social media site, you name it, tons of accounts/groups/pages will come up showing results of people who are already living this lifestyle. If they can do it, why can’t I? What are your goals? My ultimate goal is to be able to travel while working from anywhere in the world at any time, essentially, to live the Digital Nomad lifestyle. In order to do that, you must find a way to make money on the go, so, my biggest goal (before traveling) is landing freelance writing and/or translating ENG <-> ESP jobs and generating income on the internet. Apart from freelance jobs, I’m creating a website where I document my process in becoming a Digital Nomad from day 1. Through this website, my goal is to share the steps I take throughout the process in hopes to help others who are trying to live this lifestyle as well. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? Collaboration always wins over competition; help others and others will help you. I landed my first freelance writing job simply by sending someone a Direct Message asking them if they were looking for someone to collaborate with. The worst answer you can get is “no,” but there is always someone who will say yes! Currently, you can find me on Instagram: @dreamsndeadlines. That is where I post daily and will post any and all updates about my website. If more people includes it's just a bonus and will leave me forever grateful. The fitness lifestyle has helped me and developed me in many ways - and to pass it on to others who are working for the same goals in life is an honor. I love people and as I normally say: we're all in this journey together, helping each other out. What started this dream? It was back in 2014 when I lived in Norway for a year and realized how much I enjoy training. I wanted to come up with something unique that people would recognize me with to therefore share my journey in hope to help others as well. That's when the hashtag #GetItDone came to life. People started to catch up with the whole Get It Done thing, so late 2015, an idea hit me: why not start something more globally to spread the message even more? And that's when our first company, Get It Done Brand Sweden, launched in late 2016. High quality fitnessapparel with one simple reminder; Get It Done, no matter the circumstances. What motivates you to follow this dream? To see others enjoy the life of training and health, and the joy that comes with it. At least that's my motivation to help people with. What are your goals? To reach out to as many people as possible in hope that we all can help each other to a better wellbeing. What would you like people to know and where can we find you?I'd like people to know that as soon as we have found our truly joy in life, life itself gets so much more fun to go through. I'm really grateful that I found my passion early in life and to therefore be able to do what I enjoy each and everyday. I really wish all of us to find it. What started this dream? I started making skateboarding videos when I was 11 just to document what my friends and I did on a day to day basis. As I got older and progressed into new hobbies, my passion to make lifestyle videos continued. Platforms like Instagram have let me expand this into Photography and even given me opportunities to build businesses. What motivates you to follow this dream? I wake up everyday wanting to do this. Whether its taking pictures or video a day doesn't go by where I don't want to do something, so it's just natural to me. I feel like if you're truly passionate about something you'll never totally lose motivation. What are your goals? I'd like to continue to grow my social accounts/Youtube, but I have a few entrepreneurial ventures I'm working on that I plan to get up and running this year. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? A lot of my fellow 20-somethings don't believe that making a living though the internet is possible for them, but it totally is. I believe everyone has a unique skill set that they can capitalize on. Put the work in and it'll take you places you'd never think was possible. You can find me here! I always knew I wanted to be a coach, whether it was high school basketball or cross country - I was always fascinated by the analytical side of the sport. I used to find so much excitement in going over training plans with my high school running coach. I was able to put those lessons into practice as a senior coaching my 800-1600 group in track. It was fun! I've always enjoyed putting just as much effort into analyzing the sport as I have actually running. It's a life long sport and every runner has the opportunity to set records and that is what makes it so exciting. What motivates you to follow this dream? I love the pursuit! Whether that's convincing runners to train with me or teaching runners how to run their best - all great coaches are teachers. I love that every runner is their own science experiment and every runner will respond differently to certain types of training - it fascinates me! Seeing success always motivates me to keep moving forward, when an athlete of mine runs a pr (personal record) that is all of the motivation I need to keep going. What are your goals? I want to do this for a living, that's step 1. I'm pretty open about my journey, I coached at the college level but that doesn't pay and coaching for passion doesn't seem to pay the bills. Right now I work full time at a running store here in St. Louis but I am getting closer and closer to making coaching my full time job. I have other projects that will help me get there but ultimately when someone asks me what I do for a living, I want to be able to confidently say - "I'm a running coach". The ultimate goal is to sponsor/coach a post collegiate distance running project, there is a surprising lack of support for competitive runners after competing in the college ranks and I hope I can help in changing that trend. Track programs across the country are losing funding - if we can find a way to better support our runners at the top then Track & Field can be seen as an essential sport again. What started this dream? I've been performing nearly much my entire life and I've realized that nothing makes me happier. Music is my passion, and I knew I wanted to pursue that before I hit double digits. My parents have always been extremely supportive, so I never felt like following my dreams wasn't in the cards. What motivates you to follow this dream? The pure joy I feel from writing, recording, and performing my music is enough to keep me wanting more, but a huge motivating factor is regret. I don't want to live my life with regret, so I'm giving it my all now in order to look back later--regardless of the outcome--and be happy with the choices I made. No "what if"s for me! What are your goals? My number one goal is to completely make a living off singing the music I write/playing my violin & guitar. The goal in making my music is to have a positive effect on people in some way. My lyrics are packed with messages that are meant to resonate with people and evoke emotions. When I was going through my most difficult times, music helped get me through. I'd be happy knowing that my music was able to do the same thing for someone else. What started my dream? My brother used to watch the UFC on TV all the time. I thought it was crazy and not really cool, two guys fighting each other and then once I kept watching it, I said to myself hey, I could do that I'm athletic enough. So one day a friend of mine heard that I was interested in the sport and he had a friend that was doing MMA. He told me to contact his friend gave me the number I called the guy and he told me to come out and train and have been doing it ever since. What motivates you to follow this dream? What motivates me is my family and friends, fans and the amount of support I receive. It keeps me pushing and striving to reach my goals. What are your goals? My goals are to someday be sign to the UFC or some big organization, become champion, open my own gym and be stable financially. What do you want people to know and where can we find you?
