![]() I believe in my dream to create microcosmic worlds that can both terrify people and make them laugh. What started this dream? I've always loved scary stuff, from Stephen King's written works to decades upon decades of horror movies. But I'm sometimes disappointed by the genre. The story is either far too predictable or it attempts to frighten in an easy or clumsy way. In film, the scare is too often a simple start (a jumpscare) or the thing that the characters are supposed to be afraid of is too silly looking in its CGI form. As an experiment, I wanted to write a story to try to entertain myself. I wanted to get back to some basics in horror storytelling, where the reader's imagination takes over. I also wanted to be able to acknowledge when things get silly. Because sometimes, when faced with horror, all we can do is laugh. What motivates you to follow this dream? Interestingly, I have no particularly strong desire for fame and fortune as a result of my storytelling. My motivation is that I'm still getting ideas and I'm still entertained by conveying those ideas in words. Not that I don't like hearing feedback from readers when they pick up my work. I love it. I guess what I'm saying is that I'd still be writing this crap even if I didn't have the platform or means to put it out there. What are your goals? My chief goal right now is to finish compiling my currently released short tales of dark comic horror into a single collection that I can distribute in print. All of my work is digital only at present. Aside from that, I don't have an ultimate goal in mind for this dream. If there's an ultimate goal, and that goal is achieved, then you have nothing left to strive for. Each story idea that occurs to me is, in fact, its own goal. Once I've achieved that goal, I move on to the next story idea. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? I 'd like people to know that they can usually find new work by me each spring and fall. I usually release something dark and funny in March or April. Then I release something a bit darker in October. I can be found on the web at http://www.isaacthorne.com , on Twitter @isaacrthorne, and on Facebook at http://facebook.com/isaacrthorne . My books can also be found at most major ebook retailers. ![]() I believe in my dream to succeed in my endeavors. There are a lot of things I want to do in life and it's difficult battling the idea of "pigeon holing" yourself. I know I'm a creative and one of my greatest passions is drawing... Figuring out what you want to do as an artist can be a difficult question to answer. For me, I had to really think about that for a long time. All signs point to editorial Illustration. I believe that I can realize my dreams of succeeding in the editorial Illustration world. I have big dreams and being an editorial Illustrator isn't the only one. But it's what I'm giving everything I've got towards right now and I will make it happen. - What started this dream? My dreams of being an Artist as an occupation began at a young age and were always somewhat of a fantasy growing up. I was always good at drawing (or so I thought until Art School). I was one of the best artists at my high school and when I was applying to colleges, I would always choose "Art" as my major. I ultimately said to myself, "why don't I just go to an art school?" I applied to one art school and got in. I was shocked. That time in College, my professors, and the people I met along the way changed the way I see the world and how I see art as a whole. It really showed me what it is to develop as an artist and find your style and your voice. All the late nights, frustration, excitement, joy, tears..really made me fall in love with it all. I definitely was a late bloomer in school with my progression, but I've continued to grow since I graduated in 2015 and I'm more confident than ever now. What motivates you to follow this dream? What motivates me is the thought of Tomorrow. What will I do to get closer to achieving my goals tomorrow. Another motivator is the people who believe in me. My family. My persistence and will to always get better and stay motivated and create new work no matter how I'm feeling or what's going on in my life. The fact that I have made so much progression as an artist and can really own the title of Illustrator. I've seen so much growth for myself as an Illustrator and I want to see what the future holds. I moved from Florida to New York a few months ago to be with my girlfriend and be closer to the "action" and to chase my aspirations. What are your goals? My goal is to be better than I was yesterday. I want to become a successful Illustrator, preferably in editorial work but who knows what other creative endeavors will cross my path. I want to be fulfilled and make work that I can be proud of. Where ever life takes me, I want to enjoy the journey and never look back and wonder if I could have done something different. I will always try my hardest to be the best I can be. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? I would like people to know that I am twenty-three years old. I am currently in the New York area. I am a passionate and creative person. I am an Illustrator and Designer and I'm ready to take on any project. Magazines, Blogs, Comic, Posters, Editorials, all publications, I'm ready. You can find my work on Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter @kennyroutt and my online portfolio is http://www.kennyroutt.com ![]() I believe in my dream to help good writers become great. What started this dream? Years ago as a writer, I yearned to develop my skills to the highest possible level. But while there were many books and classes teaching beginners the basics of the craft, I found almost now resources for skilled writers. Once a writer has progressed beyond the basics, the learning doesn't stop. Now she or he needs advanced and specialist skills. I'm now helping writers who're at the stage where I was once stuck - the stage where they want to progress from intermediate to advanced and professional level. I give a lot of free advice on Twitter (with #writetip tweets and by answering questions about writing and publishing). I offer coaching and manuscript assessment services, and most importantly, I'm publishing Writer's Craft books. Each of these books teaches a specialist skill, such as Writing Fight Scenes, Writing Scary Scenes, Writing Vivid Settings, Writing Deep Point of View. In essence, I'm now writing the books I myself would have needed years ago. What motivates you to follow this dream? The greatest motivation is hearing from writers who tell me how much my books, classes and advice have helped them. It's rewarding to be able to help, and deeply satisfying to be part of another writer's success. Another big motivation boost comes from watching one Writer's Craft guide after another climbing up the category bestseller charts. And best of all, I'm actually earning money doing what I love. What are your goals? I regularly set new goals and revise them often. At the beginning of each year, I choose one big goal - the one I'll achieve no matter what - and several small goals which are re-negotiable. For 2016, my goal was to write and publish four new books in the Writer's Craft series. I've achieved that already. I haven't decided on my big goal for 2017 yet. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? My website is raynehall.com. It contains some free resources for writers - articles with writing tips and such. You can follow me on Twitter where I frequently post free tips, prompts and advice for writers and answer questions: https://twitter.com/RayneHall. Writers who want to hire me for coaching and manuscript assessments can do it on Upwork: https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01246e57256ae44ee4 My newsletter with news and tips for writers is also on my website. ![]() I believe in my dream to be a rapper. What started this dream? My uncle showed me the true meaning of rap. I look up to rappers like Eminem and Ncnally to motivate me to reach that dream one day. What are your goals? My goals are to reach that one day hopefully but I'm pretty content with my promotion gig. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? 'd like people know i love and am blessed with a beautiful family, friends, and job that make my world whole, everyone can find me on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook! ![]() I believe in my dream, to be able to use Twitter to create valuable relationships and try, at the age of 54, to concretely show how the world can be changed thanks to the right values, the positive force of the network and together with the entire world population, in particular with the new generations. To be, comes out right from this dream, a startup whose business is the projecting, developing and selling of Lifi & IoT solutions (indoor and outdoor), highly scalable for every need. Nowadays, Thanks to this solution it is possible to transmit data through the LED light. This idea was born on Twitter even before it reached the physical world, supported by people who met each other on the web and found themselves online, To Be is already working with companies from all over the world thanks to the potential of the network and the power of smartworking To Be offices are in Rome and Latina, its purpose is to create relationships between the old and new world with a new original model of coworking and sharing economy responding to the needs of the people through the efficient and sustainable implementation of new products and services based on algorithms and innovative technologies. Hence the constitution of the start-up To Be Kids, along with a team of young people from Latina (Latium, Italy) which has developed a smart lamp for children, transmitting safe and selected contents within a mobile app portal fully dedicated to them. What started this dream? This dream began two years ago with the first meeting between myself, Raniero Pani, a lighting expert who was among the first to develop Li-Fi technology in Italy, and Francesco Paolo Russo, architect and SmartCity expert . I was working as an independent consultant of local marketing projects and as a newcomer I was experiencing the benefit of being an influencer on Twitter, with significant results, after just a year since I joined the social media; the meeting with Raniero and Francesco has totally changed the course of events. Since the first moment, we realized that our job profiles were complementary as well as our age, experience and even our dreams. Three different generations: me 54, Raniero 40, Francesco 25 and a major challenge to be faced with a young leader like Francesco and with us two, more expert on supporting a real business 2.0, ready for the industry4.0 and with solid roots planted in the territory. Thus was born an original startup with a clear, success-oriented business model. We physically met only few months later after a long period of discussions on twitter and Skype and we began immediately a trial period for our ideas that we tested in various prestigious international events. The testing period lasted about a year, that showed us positive results and led us, in February 2016, to found the startup To Be Srl and then in September of the same year, the startup To Be Kids, with whom we participated in the Call for Startups 2016 of Tim #Wcap and, after having won it, we had access, among the other benefits, to the Digital Innovation Year. This is a great success for me. I am happy to contribute to the growth of talents and territory, especially the marginal ones, who have great unexpressed talents to be enhanced and make valuable. Our projects are aimed at doing this in an original and practical way. What motivates you to follow this dream? The chance of changing the world using new technologies, both social ones (like twitter, that allows you to create a worldwide network of growing "useful" relationships), and productive ones, as the Lifi, which allows to communicate in a simple and direct way high value-added contents, developing an harmonious environment for companies and territories generating economic added value and improving the quality of life. In this way, in a world that constantly erects walls, it is shown that building new bridges and new direct relationships is the best strategy and the best business model to preserve the original reality and our identities. This also makes possible to create and deliver value to those who have more initiative, regardless of its geographic location and its social condition of departure. All of this allows me to remember and keep alive the teaching of my parents and to enhance the legacy of affections and tradition that was entrusted to me, not to make it being lost during the time. What are your goals? As co-founder of To Be and To Be Kids, the goal is to bring the language of the new technologies in a humanistic way to an always growing audience, considering businesses and people as the real value of the reality. From my point of view it is important now, to enable active policies on the awareness to technologies, in order to make them powerful tools of storytelling and personal training. it is essential to increase digital awareness in all generations to break down a digital divide that threatens our living together and that, instead, if well addressed, it would be able to create an incredible market full of opportunities for everyone. What would you like people to know and where can we find you? I wish that people knew what we are developing and the projects we are working on. We are the first company able to transmit data through the LED light thanks to our Lifi solutions, anticipating the direction the world is heading. We want to connect feelings to the digital world, becoming a real relational and productive point of reference for our networks by focusing not only on our innovative technologies but also on cooperation and sharing projects. What started this dream? I've always had a passion for this since I was very young it's always been something that's apart of me. Put a lot of time into this dream & I'm hoping it pays off. What motivates you to follow this dream? My motivation to follow this dream is what I've been through , where I'm at & where I believe I could be. Also what I've seen. I believe a person has the power to change where he or she is in life currently & in the future but it's all in how you pursue it. What are your goals? I just want to be a positive change. I want to motivate the youth. I want to be remembered as a great artist but an even better person. What would you like people to know and where can people find you? I just want the people to know that Corey Album Coming & you can find me everywhere at @Coreylee610 ![]() I believe in my dream to become a successful independent music artist and singer/songwriter. To release original music & have an extensive fan base that would allow me to tour globally and support myself financially is my ultimate goal. What started this dream? What started this dream of mine was my introduction to music from my father. My mother and him had me very young at the ages of 23, which is currently my age, and my father was never truly was able to pursue his own music with all of his effort because of his responsibilities as a father and husband. He did find a career as an educator at the high school level and it became a passion of his, but growing up with him as a male role model, he passed down his love of music to me. He'd play his songs to me as a child, and my mother and I would always support him when he would perform in venues around NYC during his spare time. His love for music eventually became my own, and it's been a passion of mine all my life. What motivates you to follow this dream? My main motivator for me to pursue my dream as a singer/songwriter is that I am aware of a human being's mortality, and how precious our time is. I've tried the routine 9am-5pm jobs, and I've tried to follow my other interest in personal training as a side career. All other occupations don't make me feel as fulfilled as making music does. I sacrifice hours, days, and weeks on end for music projects, booking shows, writing songs, and music business ventures and I do it gladly because it is something that I am incredibly passionate about. I feel I have unique music abilities with my songwriting style, instrumentation, vocals, and image that isn't seen in today's world of music too often, and I want my voice to be heard. One day we all won't have time anymore, so you might as well do your best to make every day the best it can possibly be. What are your goals? My goals are to build my music fan base to a global level, where I would be able to book should around the country and eventually in other countries because there would be a fan base that would have interest in having me perform live for them. Mainstream media creates false images with their current pop stars at times, idolizing drugs, sex, and recycling melodies and musical styles from old songs. I feel my music is that of a true singer/songwriter that speaks on other issues that are relatable and tasteful, combining styles of acoustic ballads with rhythmic pop and R&B which isn't too common these days in the music industry. If my music can be heard, appreciated, and also inspire a listener to think differently and positively, then I'm happy. As a whole, if they are impacted enough to support me in purchasing my art and coming to a live show, then it would allow me to keep creating content for them. Short Bio: Ivan Polanco has been an active independent artist for the past 9 years, writing original music and playing in clubs, cafe's, colleges & festivals all around the country. In August 2014, he became a top 6 finalist out of 700+ applicants in the Kollaboration New York contest, which is a competition that searches for upcoming Asian-American music artists within New York.
