I believe in my dream to uplift the hip hop community in Detroit and put it on the map as a Hip Hop mecca in America. The dream is coming to fruition in a few ways but one of them is a platform I'm launching on September 19th called EmceeTV. It's an online hub that showcases groundbreaking artists and entertainment. It's not solely Detroit-based. We cover artists internationally but the interviews that we conduct are mostly Detroit artists and curators. By having a platform known and used by people around the world yet featuring so many Detroit artists it is going to bring a lot of attention to our city.
What started this dream?
I'm recognized as a powerful organizer and promoter in the Detroit electronic scene. I spent several years working in the electronic event scene. Through that I was contacted by several people in the hip hop community and found myself called to the culture. When I realized how many talented artists there are in the city, I sought out to condense the scene. When I feel called to something, I go all in and just make things happen.
What motivates you to follow this dream?
I believe in community. I believe in their dreams and talent. Their passion motivates me to help them succeed in their goals. There's not enough shine on the talent in the Detroit hip hop scene and I want to change that. I also manage an artist named Big Ang and do PR for another artist Evan The Twerkgod, so I have to do this for them too.
What are your goals?
The goal is to support underground yet up and coming artists. This is what I refer to as groundbreaking artists. I recently partnered with a few other event curators and promoters in the area who are known for packing houses. We're working together to curate some bangers in a whole new way and level up the hip hop event scene. Through these events, we plan to grow recognition similar to the thriving scenes in Miami, Chicago and Atlanta. The goal's to bring big named artists in and pair them with local talent so the artists in Detroit can continue to have their prices go up. Keeping them moving in the direction of bigger and better.
What would you like people to know and where can we find you?
The EmceeTV platform will be your plug to the best of the best. We curate our content, take submissions and seek out artists who are making waves. The website will feature new releases, singles, music videos and curated playlists as well as interviews, talk shows and cyphers brought to you by our powerful videography team. I'd love for your readers to tune into what we're doing and look more deeply into the artists that call to them. My social handle for everything is @MsTaylorDall - I'm on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook. Also follow @EmceeNetwork on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to stay tuned for the website because it's going to be lit.
